Most Indian universities require a minimum of 75% attendance. Some colleges allow 65% with medical certificates. DU, Mumbai University, VTU, and most AICTE-affiliated colleges mandate 75%. Check your specific college rules as they may vary.

Attendance % = (Classes Attended ÷ Total Classes Held) × 100. Example: Attended 68 out of 90 → (68/90) × 100 = 75.56%.

With 75% requirement: you can miss at most 25% of classes. Formula: Max absences = Total Classes × 0.25. Example: 120 total classes → max 30 absences allowed.

Required classes = (0.75 × Future Total Classes – Classes Already Attended) ÷ (1 – 0.75). This calculator automatically shows you exactly how many consecutive classes you must attend to reach the threshold.

Below 75% attendance can result in: not being allowed to appear in exams (detention), grade deduction, internal marks penalty, or repeat the academic year. Some colleges send letters to parents. Always check your institution's specific rules.
